At the beginning of Genesis God creates EVERYTHING. So why did he plop the tree of knowledge down in the Garden to begin with? Dan, are there books that speculate where all these different myths that were cobbled together into Genesis originated?

I'm going to become Muslim now because this is exactly what Islam is saying about Jesus and God. In Islam, God doesn't have kids and parents and wives and has no human characteristics and that Jesus is only a major prophet and messenger not God and not the Son of God. Looks like Islam is the corrective original Christianity of Jesus himself.

This is partly why I became a non-theistic Luciferian. Knowledge and truth matter and the core narrative of the Bible, as it is commonly understood, is violently against that. It is about power and submission. Its model for humanity is infantilizing and its methods brutal. All it offers in return is a lifetime of shame and a revenge fantasy. I spent 40 years taking that book seriously. I studied it academically from a specifically Fundamentalist perspective. I had enough, simply put, and I decided to “put away childish things” and then take a stand for myself and others based on acceptance and compassion. If that makes me wrong in whatever god(s) that may or may not exist eyes, so be it. Here I stand. I can do no other.

Number 1) Sure, but not undeniable, #2 Denied - no evidence there was a tomb, #3 Denied - only a few (3 maybe 4) not 'various' and if that is a 'group' well ok whatever, and 'believing' something happened is not the same as it actually happened, #4 Sure, but not undeniable, #5 Denied, there is very little to suggest that they were willing to die for this belief, #6 Sure, Paul and James believed. All of this is basically - the Bible tells me so - a hodgepodge of discrepancies and late anonymous so-called 'witnesses.' No thanks - more likely natural explanations for these people's belief that some dude rose!

There's such a great deal to unravel. Suffice it to say that Adam named the woman (Genesis 2:22) "Woman" (Genesis 2:23), which infers an obligation to train up the woman in all that he knows and understands about Eden. So, the Serpent does not deceive Woman. Neither does the LORD God deceive Adam. The death that concerned Adam was temporal. The death that imbues the law of Eden's judgment is ethereal. The moment Adam, not Woman, eats what's forbidden is the moment Adam dies. Adam's death is figurative as it infers that, having obtained what he'd always sought, Adam sets his face against the LORD God--i.e., death.

Not that anyone cares but the Book of Jubilees gives the answer. Says that Adam lived to be 930, which would be 70 years short of 1000 years (1 day for the Lord). So in God’s time being the same as Adam’s time when he was in the garden, dying that same day would have meant before 1000 years.

Blame is on the Satan but the accountability of action was on Adam and Eve. Islamically, Satan's purpose is to intice you to do wrong. Whether you give into it or not that's in your control.. If you give in, then you'll be held accountable according to that And If you do not, then you'd be rewarded for it. Don't think, you will not be tested in this life because you certainly will be.

Reading Mark i found the followers were not close to the crucifixion site: the women watched from afar. They went to the tomb the second morning after the burial to find... four completely different versions. The most important event in their lives and the small group of witnesses wasn't able to give a coherent account. Like nothing really happened except for an empty tomb with the suspect that they simply took the wrong one, the only they found open.

About the 3 narrative arcs (Garden of Eden, Noah & Flood, Tower of Babel) I can see how the first and last involve mankind trying to assume divine attributes. Knowledge of Good and Evil is just for God? Sure. The Tower of Babel was going to reach the heavens, so someone has to put a stop to that. But about Noah's Flood... There is a quick mention of the Sons of God marrying human women and the resulting Nephilim and the heroes of old, but then there's a total change in direction and suddenly it's all about how depraved people have become and how God regrets creating them and it's flood time. So the story in Genesis really doesn't support the flood as preventing mankind from achieving any divine attribute. Is Dan thinking about a version of the flood story that predates Genesis?

Exactly the argument against infralapsarianism. I will point out that there is a very minority view called Molinism where, essentially, in every possible world where mankind has free will, they end up sinning. So, what god did was choose to actualize the best of all these possible worlds.
